Got scammed of $ 960 for someone on Ebay, if PayPal can not recover my, can be mail fraud charges brought up?
Sorry for the bad grammar in the title of the question but the only way to make it fit. What happened: someone creates a list for an item of high value, and I won $ 960.00 and sent them to not send the item was included, they sent me a package containing an item worth more than $ 5.00. I know this was to tell PayPal / Ebay who sent something. I am currently going through the PayPal claim process, but the issue did not qualify for protection level top. I really do not need a tutorial about PayPal, but go ahead and feel free to respond to them. Although it is unlikely to know there is a possibility that PayPal may be able recover my funds. What I really want to know the charges of mail fraud may be brought against this individual? If so, where do I begin, by hiring a lawyer and taking it from there? If you bothered to read all this I ask you to try to stick to the issue, which is about email fraud, No eBay / PayPal

If PayPal can not do anything, I would contact your local FBI and see what they can do. It atleast can guide you in the right direction. I work in a hospital and a few years ago worked with a lady who went to federal prison for mail fraud for selling on eBay Beenie babies did not have! So I know you can get in trouble for it. And since it is federal, I would contact your local FBI office and go from there. Like I said, if anything, can guide you in the right direction. Also, contact your bank or credit card company (depending on how you pay) Often have protection against fraud. That could atleast get something back until I get that all straightened out.Good luck!
